Even though you point out the genuineness of his convention speech, I think he still has a long way to go to really look comfortable and find his voice. I would love it if he came out and told the whole country that if we really want to fix our economic crisis and prosper again that we all do as the Book of Mormon says and repent and return to keeping Gods commandments (http://goodlypearls.com/ ).

I think it's great that he's a nice guy, who loves his family and goes to church, but what about the Constitution? The oath of office will require him to say that he will uphold and defend the Constitution, yet he doesn't seem to care much about that. Saying that he does not need Congress to declare war tells me that he is prepared to violate his oath before he has even taken it.

Recently, I happened upon the following at the "Christians For Mitt" website:

What Kind of Man is Mitt Romney?

• After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar, but never worked as an attorney.
• As a venture-capitalist, Romney's first major business deal involved investing in a start-up office supply company with one store in Massachusetts that sold office supplies. That company, called Staples, now has over 2,000 stores and employs over 90,000 people.
• Romney or his company Bain Capital (using what became known as the "Bain Way") would go on to perform the same kinds of business miracles again and again, with companies like Domino's, Sealy, Brookstone, Weather Channel, Burger King, Warner Music Group, Dollarama, Home Depot Supply, and many others.
• Got your calculators handy? Let's recap.
• Volunteer campaign worker for his dad's gubernatorial campaign 1 year.
• Unpaid intern in Governor's office 8 years.
• Mormon missionary in Paris 2 years.
• Unpaid bishop and stake president for his church 10 years.
• No salary as president of the Olympics 3 years.
• No salary as MA governor 4 years.
• That's a grand total of 28 years of unpaid service to his country, his community and his church.
• Why? Because that's the kind of man Mitt Romney is.

I think your attempt to find the true Romney falls short because your real aim seems to be to denigrate President Obama. I doubt anyone would even question Romney's "realness" if he hadn't turned his back on everything he used to believe in in order to secure the nomination. Personally, I'm still waiting for the real Romney to emerge, assuming, of course, that he does.

We are pretty supportive of Romney/Ryan alothough Romney was not our first choice. I thought his speech at the RNC was one of his best. He does not have the soaring rhetoric of Pres. Obama but he does have more substance. I am glad he is speaking about his faith-he needs to do that.

Governor Schweitzer of Montana summarized Romney's problem exactly. He is a very good man,but his policies (from what little we can tell from what he says) are wrong for the country. President Clinton simply wiped out the rationale for Romneynomics;, Senator Kerry and President Obama demonstrated the amateurish an war monering neocon foreign policy of Romney-Ryan and Viice Preidnt Biden and Governor Stickland demonstrated the cost of vulture capitlism and vouture care.

Just because you are good person does not make you the best candidate. A man who only asks how high when Grover Norquist or the Religious Right asks you to jump, does not have he strength of character to make the hard decisions. A man who did not have the fortitude to tell the other Vice Presidential possbilities they were not chosen but had his son do it,, does not have the mettle needed for such a job a President.

In evlauating others, we often fall back on our pesonal eperience. I tought at a tough high school. We used to tell male "newbies" that their manhood was going to be tested in the first few weeks, if hey passed, they will have few problems. If they fail, go to the Vice Principals office and turn in a letter of resignation. The kids would know about your failure in 10 minutes and your life wil be miserable.

So far Romney has failed that test numerous times. Those of us old enough tro remember recall that we almost went to war with Russia during the Cuban Missle Crisis because Kruschev read Kennedy as weak and so he thought moving missles into Cuba wold be easy. Why did they see him as weak was because of his anemic performance at the Vienna summit.

In this age of danger we cannot afford a nice , God fearing, famly man as President if he cannot pass the "wuss" test. As Bryan Fisher, a right wing radio host said after Romney caved to him and fired his gay foreign policy advisor. "If he (Romney) can't stand up to me, why would we expect him to stand up. to Putin or Norh Korea."

I voted for Obama, and I'm better off than I was four years ago. Really! Between obtaining a wife, a college degree, and a non-dishwasher job...I even got my first gun! And all of that had precisely zilch to do with the president, which is why I don't like the "better/worse off than four years ago" argument, whoever's wiellding it.
