Hi Doug,

These words are very foreign to me. Never heard of them other than "The Word". I have heard my EV friends say they "fellowshipped" with each other, which is something we don't say.

Slain in the Spirit...sounds like one of the Book of Mormon battle scenes!

That would be me! I must have logged on with two different e-mail addresses-sorry for the confusion! I thought it was odd that you didn't know who I was-however I believe there has been a third Doug that shows up every once in a while! There is only one Cal though! God bless!

Doug D., that's very interesting.
This is probably a stupid question, but you aren't the same guy as the other Doug that often pops up on this site, are you? If I remember correctly, he also once considered becoming a Mormon, and is a pastor of a reformed church in PA!

Hey Cal,
I shared this a while back but I was born Roman Catholic in New York, raised Protestant (Reformed Church in America) was converted when I was 15, was involved in a charismatic Lutheran Church that turned into a weird legalistic cult (long story) went church hopping, almost became LDS at one point (continue have an interest in anything LDS-obviously!) was baptized at age 21 in a Pentecostal church however the Lord called me back to my Reformed Church roots where I currently serve Christ as a Lead Pastor in a great church in Bucks county, PA-so you could say I'm a born again bapticostal reformed guy who loves God!

Hi Cal,

Women really can do a lot in the LDS church. The only thing they can't be is the Bishop, bishop's counselors, and at least for now, they can't give blessings (although in the early days of the church they did). Oh..and they are allowed to speak in church during the services, but the last speaker always has to be a male....I can see that changing down the road too because they used to not be able to pray in church and they can now.
