If anyone enjoyed such a presentation, they themselves would be perverse. Such immorality is bound to come to those who despise the Word of the Lord, as St. Paul wrote to the Romans (chapter one). It is the result of a thankless heart which turns inward; since they despise the Creator, they then seek to satisfy itself with all that creation offers. Whenever lust is left to itself, it digs a deeper hole--and, like a drug, it takes greater events to bring about a "thrill." That is true not only for those who participate, but also for those who observe and approve. What greater wickedness is there than the society that will not condemn the wickedness on display, but only approves.

All the more reason to give thanks to God--not that we applaud ourselves (as would a Pharisee), but that we submit ourselves to his Word and observe his law, for this was given to us as a result of his love. His love is magnified through Jesus, whose life redeems us from the empty way of life we now deplore.
Blessings in his holy name,
Ezra

No, it wasn't just you. The most alarming thing was that Lady Gaga's performance was among the most understated and least sleazy of the evening, and her act consisted of playing a flaming piano while wearing a flesh-toned bodysuit.

Couldn't change the channel because Dad wanted to watch it, so I gave up and left the room.
