Dallin H. Oaks gave a talk in Oct. of 2000. His topic was “The Challenge to Become”. In his usual methodical away he laid out the doctrine that out goal in life is to become something. Our goal is not to do some things, and to avoid other things. It is to become a disciple of Christ.

It has inspired me to understand that through my ups and downs, good times and bad times, what am I becoming? This is what matters.

Those who are not in the LDS church feel that it is blasphemy to say there is more than one God, but there are numerous occasions in the scriptures that show there is more than one God. For example, in Genesis it says "let us make man in our image." A talk by an LDS General Authority, Jeffery R Holland gave a very good talk that has helped me with learning about the nature of God and why it is important.
